film screening and talk
On Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 5 p.m., it's Open House again at the Caligari cinema in Ludwigsburg. In cooperation with Kinokult and under the motto “There and back again: Alumni introduce themselves,” director and Filmkademie graduate Tim Ellrich will present his feature film debut IM HAUS MEINER ELTERN (IN MY PARENTS' HOUSE, German lanuage version). The screening will be followed by a film talk.
IM HAUS MEINER ELTERN tells the story of Holle, a spiritual healer who takes care of her brother, who suffers from schizophrenia, and her aging parents. As she tries to bring about change in her family, she meets a man who rejects any kind of help. The film stars Jenny Schily, Ursula Werner, Manfred Zapatka and Jens Brock. The graduation film was not only a calling card for director Tim Ellrich (writer and director) and producer Leopold Pape (Coronado Film), who graduated from FABW with the film, but also for numerous Filmakademie alumni who were involved in the project (see credits below).
In February, the black-and-white family drama was the only German entry in the main competition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), one of the most important European festivals, where it won the Special Jury Award. IM HAUS MEINER ELTERN was made as a co-production with ZDF – Das kleine Fernsehspiel.
