Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg is a non-profit limited liability company. Its management board is controlled by a supervisory board. This organisational form, with its clearly-defined competences, enables the Filmakademie to react quickly to the rapid development of the film and media industry.
The sole shareholder of the Filmakademie is the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg.

In the area of teaching, the management board is responsible, among other things, for the conception, planning and implementation of teaching, the acquisition of lecturers, study coordinators and project supervisors, for third-party funding productions, the development of the media location for alumni and start-ups as well as cooperation with regional and national broadcasters and production companies.
In the area of administration, responsibilities include finance and accounting, annual financial statements, controlling, risk management, procurement, legal issues, job and personnel planning and development as well as general administration and business organisation.
The works council consists of 7 members of staff from Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg. Its core task is to draw up works agreements, in constructive co-operation with the management board.
Needless to say, representing the interests of the workforce and monitoring compliance with the Works Constitution Act are part of its regular activities.

The Equal Opportunities Officers and the Equal Opportunities Officers of the student body provide support and guidance on issues relating to family-friendly working and study hours, maternity leave and parental leave. They are also contact persons for career changes, the implementation of equal opportunities structures and in cases of sexual harassment and/or discrimination at the workplace or place of study. The Equal Opportunities Officers of the student body represent the interests of female students in particular.
To the area
The AStA (General Students' Committee) is the executive body of the student body and thus student representation, which works in areas such as university policy, culture, political education, study conditions, transport and ecology, anti-discrimination and social policy.
The AStA represents student interests vis-à-vis the Filmakademie, promotes student projects, organises events and parties, is the point of contact for student councils and other student groups and negotiates (together with other AStAs) on the semester ticket and other student benefits and much more.
