The Communications & Public Relations department at FABW, as well as the associated Animationsinstitut is the control centre for anyone who is curious about our university - be it the media or the interested public.
One focus of our work is to provide a look behind the scenes at FABW through interviews and stories. We use our social media channels, the FABW blog and the Animationsinstitut website to keep the community up to date on current study programmes, projects, student and alumni successes, in addition to various other events.
These events include, for example, the “Open House” series, which presents films by alumni in the Caligari cinema in cooperation with the arthouse operator KinoKult. Or the “INPUT/OUTPUT” symposium and pitching event, where industry experts discuss future topics and students and alumni present current projects.
A special highlight is the annual FMX – Film & Media Exchange organised by the Filmakademie. This internationally-renowned conference offers students and industry experts from all over the world a platform to share and expand their knowledge in the fields of animation, visual effects, as well as interactive and immersive media.
We are also responsible for organising the annual Open Day and the Academy Tours. In addition, the homepages of FABW and the Animationsinstitut serve as platforms for press releases, images and background information.
Close co-operation with the city of Ludwigsburg is another focus of our work. Initiatives such as the Children's University and the lecture series “Gedankengänge” (trains of thought) promote creative dialogue between the five local universities, the city and its citizens.
We are committed to making the diversity and quality of Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg visible, and establishing a connection between the academic film, the media world and the general public.
