Profile

Entering into a dialogue with the camera. That is exactly what the Film Acting workshop at Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg is all about. The course has been held regularly for over 20 years and is now one of the leading non-profit study programmes in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The special quality of the fundamentals taught is reflected in the professional skills of the more than 300 graduates to date, many of whom have gone on to work successfully in film and television.

In addition to imparting basic theoretical knowledge, the course is primarily based on practical training. The focus here is on language, gestures, facial expressions and continuity of movement – in short, on increasing personal presence in front of the camera. And getting to know the real working situation on set during "work in progress".

Of course, this also involves recording scenes as reference material together with FABW students and then analysing them together. This is not for the purpose of creating a demo tape, but for the personal professionalisation of the individual participants!
