Max Ophüls Prize Film Festival

The FABW is represented at the 46th Max Ophüls Prize Film Festival with four competition entries. Additional productions are showcased in special sections.

International Film Festival Rotterdam

The FABW feature film IM HAUS MEINER ELTERN competes in the main competition "Tiger Competition" at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Many alumni of the Filmakademie were also involved in its creation.

Film Workshop Links Perspectives from Baden-Württemberg and Chile

On December 17, 2024, the final round of the film workshop MIRADAS CRUZADAS will begin. Students from FABW and the Universidad de Valparaíso will create short films about life in Stuttgart and Valparaíso.

30th Filmschau BW

Four awards at the 30th Filmschau Baden-Württemberg: Students and alumni of the Filmakademie were honored in the categories of Short Film, Animation, Audience Award, and Best Feature Film. The winning films impressively showcase a wide range of creative and narrative approaches.

Film Students Sound the Alarm

In an open letter, they urgently call for reforms to film funding to prevent the industry's decline and secure the future of young filmmakers.

NO DOGS ALLOWED wins Best First Feature Film Award

The alumni production NO DOGS ALLOWED won the Best First Feature Film Award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. Its world premiere also took place at the prestigious A-list festival in Tallinn.

NOLLYWOOD-WORKSHOP

The NOLLYWOOD-WORKSHOP 2024 brought together Nigerian and German filmmakers to produce the film FRAGMENTS OF TOMORROW. In 2025, the program will be expanded with scholarships for Nigerian talents.

FABW is part of the 13. Short Film Day

The 13th SHORT FILM DAY is taking place from 15 to 21 December 2024 under the motto ‘Building Bonds’. We are also taking part and presenting two exciting programmes that can be booked now.

FABW-Production "FÜNFZEHN MINUTEN" Wins in the Education Category

The short film FÜNFZEHN MINUTEN by Sejad Ademaj won the Deutscher Menschenrechts-Filmpreis 2024 for its powerful portrayal of deportation and migration.
