FABW takes part in German Short Film Day

Motto: Banden Bilden

From 15 to 21 December 2024, the 13th KURZFILMTAG will be dedicated to the motto ‘Form a gang’. The Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg (FABW) will be presenting two varied programmes, which can already be booked.

Under the title LEBENS-BANDE(N), the FABW shows a variety of forms of living together - from deeply connected families to secretive communities. These films offer insights into human relationships and their complexity.

The children's and youth programme invites young viewers to ask questions about the life and meaning of community. Recommended for ages 6 and up, it offers an entertaining and educational experience for the whole family.

The SHORT FILM DAY offers a unique opportunity to rediscover the short film while reflecting on the meaning of community. The events take place all over Germany.

Further information on the FABW programmes and screening dates is available on the Short Film Day website.

2 Programme der FABW

The Baden-Württemberg Film Academy is presenting two programmes at the 13th SHORT FILM DAY:

1. LEBENS-BANDE(N): A look at different forms of living together, from close-knit families to secretive groups with their own rules.

2. Children's and youth programme: films for young viewers aged 6 and up that address questions about life and the meaning of community.

Eine Feier des Kurzfilms für alle

On 21 December, the shortest day of the year, Germany will be transformed into a stage for short films. Open-air cinemas will be created in locations ranging from football stadiums and market squares to back courtyards. Shop windows and shopping malls will serve as projection screens, while film theatres, museums, living rooms and cinemas will open their doors for over 500 events in more than 200 cities. The aim of the short film day is to present the short film in all its facets to a broad audience and to make it a social experience as an art form.
