FABW´s support association Friends of Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024 and looks back on an impressive history of promoting young talent.

The annual Caligari Awards support students in their first film projects. The awards are endowed by partners such as Andreas Stihl AG, the Foundation for Art, Culture and Education of Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg, the Wüstenrot Foundation, and YTF Young Talent Foundation Berlin gGmbH.

Successes such as the selection of SYSTEMSPRENGER (directed by Nora Fingscheidt) as the German contribution to the Academy Award (Oscar) for Best International Picture, and international festival wins for fils such as KASH KASH (directed by Lea Najjar) show how valuable this support is for the careers of the prizewinners.
